Some Updates on MOUs, etc.
The Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) for the temporary night shift agreement and the helper nurse role have been extended through May 5th, 2022.
We have notified administration that we would like to extend the extra shift incentive and the shift extension MOUs, and we will be discussing this at the April PCC. These MOUs are set to expire on April 23rd, 2022.
Administration has rolled out a night shift retention bonus. Please note, this bonus is not an MOU. This is not an alteration to our contract, this is an agreement between Providence and any nurse who signs it. In short, if an RN signs an agreement to remain on night shift for 2 years, Providence will pay up to $10,000 (depending on your FTE) over 3 payments. If you transfer departments but remain on night shift, you will continue to receive the bonus. Providence reached out to us, the officers, for feedback, which is why it took some time for this to come together. Though we appreciate the fact that administration understands the importance of retaining experience on night shift, we feel like more could be done. We will continue to advocate for noc shift incentives (i.e., an increase in night shift differential).
Professional Conference Committee
Don't forget! PCC is the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 0730. At PCC meetings administration, your managers, and MNA officers discuss ADOs (Assignment Despite Objections), concerns on the floors, policies, etc. This is a great way to bring your comments, questions, and concerns straight to the top.

Town Hall Meetings
We have started scheduling Local 17 town hall meetings for the 3rd Wednesday of every month. These meetings are informal, there is no agenda. They are just a way for us to check in with you, the membership, and find out what's important.
We have a morning meeting scheduled, and plan to schedule an evening meeting, depending on officer availability. Keep an eye out on the website, instagram, and facebook for updates.
