Retention Survey, Upcoming Meetings

A New Retention Campaign is Underway

You may have received a few texts and emails from MNA this week regarding a survey. Your union officers are working with union members from Local #15 (Community Medical Center) on nurse retention. We know that strategies to keep our nurses local is something we all care deeply about for our fellow nurses and for our patients.

This survey is short, it will only take you a few minutes! Please take the time to fill it out and let us know your thoughts!

June PCC is on Wednesday the 8th @ 0730

Don't forget! PCC is the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 0730. At PCC meetings your St. Pat's administration, managers, and Local 17 officers discuss ADOs (Assignment Despite Objection), concerns on the floors, policies, etc. This is a great way to bring your comments, questions, and concerns straight to the top.

If you would like to add something to the PCC Agenda, please submit it in SBAR format to Marni Richards (marni.richards@providence.org) and cc your manager and us, your officers (mtnurseslocal17@gmail.com)!

A reminder of the purpose of ADOs: If you verbally object to an unsafe patient assignment or working condition to your charge RN, house supervisor, and/or manager, and nothing is done about it, you should file an ADO. The purpose of this form is to bring your situation forth to PCC for discussion—at PCC yourself, your Local 17 Officers, and administration discuss ADOs in an attempt to find solutions and prevent these events from reoccurring. Please plan on attending the next month’s PCC meeting if you file an ADO!

Town Hall Meetings

Just a reminder, there are Town Hall Meeting on the 3rd Wednesday (6/15) and Thursday (6/16) of every month. Times TBA.

These meetings are short and sweet. We want to give you all an opportunity for you to touch base with the officers for updates and to raise any concerns you have. If you can make a meeting, please “stop by” and say hi!

Links to these meetings can always be found on our website, here.

As always, please reach out to your officers or your unit reps (here is a list) with your concerns, comments, or questions. We are here for you and we are eager for your feedback.

In solidarity,

Leslie, Rachel, Jeff, Casey, Tyler, and Alyshia
